Vaccination – Kaduna State on hard-to-reach areas in 2018

In the total push of Kaduna to sustain vaccination in the state, the Kaduna State Primary Healthcare Development Agency says it will focus on hard-to-reach areas in 2018

According to the Agency’s Deputy Director, Hamza Ikara, the focus is on making total complete push from all level ensuring maximum progress in routine immunisation.

Due to security challenges in 2017, the agency was unable to fully cover some areas in Chikun, Kajuru, Kachia and Birnin Gwari Local Governments of Kaduna state which they will be visiting in this year’s immunisation exercise.

He emphasized on shortage of manpower and inadequate funds to conduct an effective activities and made reference to laudable projects carried out from free routine immunisation in 1,168 health facilities, training village, Districts and Ward heads to help in providing healthcare services in communities across the state.”

The deputy director added that three cold store rooms have been provided at the agency’s zonal centres while plans were on to employ all cadres of health personnel. meanwhile, The chairman of the Lagos Nigerian Medical Association Dr Muyiwa Odusote made a call on parents to always immunize their children against killer disease peculiar to the childhood stage.
