Ranching by Northern Governors
Northern Governors

The Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, on Thursday after the forum’s meeting held at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, Kaduna,  noted that ranching would enhance the productivity of  animals in the country.

He also noted that aside ranching being a solution to the present crisis between herdsmen and farmers, it would also bring a significant improvement in the production of dairy products in the country.

Kashim Shettima noted that the present milk yield by the breed of cows in the country is far below those produced by cows in other countries.

The Northern Governors forum therefore pledged its support for the Federal Government’s ranching initiative in order to ameliorate the increasing need of milk in the country and tackle the lingering communal clashes between herdsmen and farmers in various parts of the country.
