Germany drops Manchester city Star Leroy Sane from squad

Germany football team manager, Joachim Low has explained why Manchester City star, Leroy Sane is absent from the 23-man squad he is taking to the World Cup in Russia this month.

“Sane had a spectacular season for Pep Guardiola’s City side, winning the Premier League title and destroying Arsenal 3-0 in the Carabao Cup final to secure a double trophy-winning season for the Citizens.

The 22-year-old also won the ‘Premier League Young Player of the Year’ award, marking a fantastic campaign that saw Sane contribute to some world-class attacking football.

However, despite his talent, Sane was not included in Low’s Germany 23-man squad travelling to Russia this month to compete in the World Cup.

Explaining his decision Germany’s coach revealed that he doesn’t think Sane is ready for the international stage.

Low said: “That was a very close decision between him and Julian Brandt, which was made in favour of Brandt.
