NDLEA arrests drug bandits in Anambra

NDLEA has arrested one Mr. Solomon Michael suspected to be a major distributor of cannabis sativa (Indian hemp) which ia a common drug of abuse.

Solomon was arrested in Onitsha by men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Anambra State Command.

Also arrested was one Okechukwu Udenkwo who was found to be in possession of a substance suspected to be cocaine.

While addressing newsmen in Awka, the State Commander of the NDLEA, Mr. Sule Momodu said both Solomon and Okechukwu were arrested during a raid of the NDLEA in Onitsha and Nando respectively.

“Solomon is a major distributor of cannabis sativa in Onitsha, while Udenkwo is involved in the business of distributing cocaine in Nando,” Sule said.

Sule, was optimistic that the arrest of the suspects will bring sanity back to the region. He also appealed to the community leaders to collaborate with the agency to enable them get rid of illicit drugs in the state.

Mr. Sule, also promised to protect the identity of informants and applauded the effort of the State Governor in securing the state.
